![]() ![]() ![]() Snape never missed an opportunity to push Harry’s buttons by insulting his father, but yet for some reason never included Lily in his insults despite the fact that it would be a sure fire way to piss Harry off even more. This post is all the evidence I compiled over a decade ago as to how I theorized Snape loved Lily prior to the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows back in July 21, 2007ġ. With so many new fans always entering the fandom and still finding out subtle clues or hidden meanings (because what else can you do with no more books to look forward to) I thought it would be cool to show how I was able to figure out that there was some sort of connection between Severus Snape and Lily Potter. ![]() Me, being obsessed with Harry Potter when the books were still being published (still obsessed, just have other hobbies now), I desperately reread the prior 6 books repeatedly before the release of the last book to see if I could possibly be able to predict some major plot points and I did! When the truth of what the main motivation for Severus Snape’s actions against Lord Voldemort was revealed to be Lily Potter in the last installment of Harry Potter, it shocked the world.īut when rereading the books since then in hindsight, readers are able to see that the clues were there the whole time. TL DR When compiling all the various subtle clues dropped throughout the series in combination with what J.K Rowling had said in interviews, anyone could have potentially figured out Snape’s connection to Lily. Flowers don't have much scent in Australia," deprecated Mrs Callcott. "And scent!-they have scent!" cried Harriet, sniffing at her velvety bouquet. "Oh no, they want cutting as they come, or the blooms gets smaller," said Jack, masculine and benevolent. And isn't it a pity to cut them?" This, rather wistfully, to the masculine silence of Jack. "Why not?" cried Mrs Callcott in delight. He'd got neighbours now.Īnd sure enough, in a few minutes came Harriet's gushing cries of joy and admiration: "Oh, how lovely! how marvellous! but can they really be dahlias? I've never seen such dahlias! they're really too beautiful! But you shouldn't give them me, you shouldn't." Somers, in the little passage inside his house, heard all this with inward curses. "Mr Callcott, oh!" said Harriet, as if she were mentally abstracted trying to spell the word. "That's your husband who has the motor-bike?" said Harriet. "No, I suppose not," said Harriet, wondering why the girl didn't tell her own name now. "I saw you come yesterday, and I wondered-we hadn't heard the name of who was coming." She was still rather gawky and school-girlish in her manner, half shy, half brusque. "Mr and Mrs Somers," she reiterated, with a little laugh. "Oh, Somers!" exclaimed the neighbour woman, with a gawky little jerk, like a schoolgirl. "Somers-S-O-M-E-R-S." Harriet spelled it out. "For the people next door," concluded the offerer.
